Voces LatAm is a program by Black Diamond and Acceso PanAm dedicated to building a new generation of conservation and responsible access leaders in Latin America. By bringing together climbing and mountain communities, it creates space for practical learning, shared experience, and collective growth – responding to a clear regional need for more inclusive spaces to grow, connect, and inspire.
Designed for climbers, mountaineers, and communities across Latin America interested in conservation, responsible access, and developing initiatives related to climbing and mountain environments.

In this new edition of Voces LatAm, we will explore inspiring experiences from across Latin America, shared by the people leading them. An opportunity to learn from real-world conservation and access initiatives, exchange ideas, and strengthen the regional community of climbers and mountain enthusiasts committed to protecting their landscapes.
Upcoming Virtual Sessions
Mujer Montaña is an initiative that promotes participation, leadership, and connection among women involved in mountain activities in Bolivia. Through activities, expeditions, and training opportunities, the project builds community and creates new pathways for more women to engage in and grow within mountaineering.
In this seminar, we will explore how the initiative began, the barriers it seeks to address, and how the mountains can become a space for autonomy, collective learning, and stronger networks.
During this seminar, we will discuss:
- The history and goals of Mujer Montaña.
- The challenges women face in the world of mountaineering.
- How to build more diverse, inclusive, and participatory communities.

Baños Secos El Chaltén was created as a practical response to the impact caused by the large number of visitors to one of Patagonia’s best-known climbing and mountain destinations.
In this seminar, we will explore how the project was developed, the solutions it implements for human waste management, and why community involvement is essential to promoting responsible practices in heavily visited natural areas.
During this seminar, we will discuss:
- The environmental problem that led to the creation of the project.
- How dry toilets work and the impact they seek to reduce.
- The lessons learned and challenges involved in implementing a community-based solution in a mountain destination.

Conserva Puchegüín is a conservation campaign that seeks to protect 133,000 hectares of land with significant environmental and cultural value in Cochamó, Chile.
In this seminar, we will explore the story behind the project, the process of building strategic partnerships, and the challenges involved in moving toward the creation of a new protected area.
This is an opportunity to learn how collaboration among organizations, communities, and diverse stakeholders can drive large-scale projects and help protect valuable territories.
