Many climbing and mountaineering areas are threatened or closed due to inappropriate behavior by people in the mountains: littering, drug use, offensive or disruptive behavior, excessive noise, etc. Others suffer environmental damage from visitation: human waste, eroded trails. These impacts affect our own experience, that of other visitors, and the environment — but they are impacts we can control.

Change is in our hands! Access and conservation of climbing and mountaineering areas depends on individual actions.

We seek to help people understand the impacts of damaging behaviors and how to prevent and correct them.
